2004 Athens Olympic has started

Woke up very late today, my mom had to get Lady out of my room or she'll miss her meal. I stayed up to watch the opening ceremony of the 2004 Olympic. Did anyone else watch it? Hmm, let me correct that, does anyone with cable [Kabelvision, Indovision, Astro dll] watch it? ^__^ Can you believe it? because so many Indonesian TV stations bought those stupid rights to football and whatever, not even one station can afford to buy the right to the Olympic game? And we're the only country who participate in the game but can not show the events back at home. Hard to believe but its true..

anywayz... i must say that i didn't regret staying up until i couldn't open my eyes anymore. the opening was spectacular to say the least. even though it doesn't have big celeb or amazing show or atribute or whatever, but the mind behind the whole thing was just... WOW. well, what can you expect, Greece is the country where most thing originated, like math etc. plus the great Greek Mythology...

i love how they show the history since the beginning of it, from where the god of Zeus and then Hercules came from, to Eros [the god of Love] and much later on Cupid. And then how the models and their "costumes" were made just like stones or something, that they all looked like they came out of a history book, and the minimal movements and the precise robotic movements made them all look so beautiful to see, like watching a live art show. every historic events that mark the Greece today was represented in the show. oh how i wish i can name them all, the historic events, the name of the particular buildings, the greek gods etc etc.
[ Jadi inget kalo beberapa semester kemaren udah mau dibuka a Greek Mythology class in my campus, me and a few close friends udah eagerly signed up, dan ternyata di cancelled and we had no option but to take a Business English class instead... that darn campus!! ]

anyway.. i guess all major events or well known fact or myth were represented that night, including the Greek Orthodox Church... i recognized the background that they used instantly, its something that i used to see on the church Icons. Ooh they had a model pose as Saint George.. came complete with the slayed dragon! Coolness. And even the girls that were holding up the name pole for the countries that participate.. wore the same kind of "costume", like a hard wooden frock/ skirt. i wonder what it was made of....

And then because Greek has it own alphabet, so when the delegations came out to the field, the order was kind confusing to the rest of us that are used to the ABC alphabet. First came the country that begins with the word 'saint' like Saint Lucia etc etc,and then countries with the letter A, i forgot the order but even the V and B wasn't the usual V and B, I guess it depends on how you pronounced the name, Indonesia came out after Denmark & India!

Too bad, it was so late and the ceremony was still long way to go that i fall asleep before the torch came.. baka baka ira! Oh yeah.. when Japan delegation came out, they all [well most of them] wore white suits [some with floral pattern] and white hats that has a touch of light green, yellow and PINK on the inside of the hat. [hahahaha what is it with japanese and pink? i mean even the japanese men! i guess they were the only people who dare enough to wore pink ^__^ the japanese and the chinese men] and the thing that made me crack up laughing... uchiwa!! LOL its so them don't you think? even to the Joniz, they made fans all over the world dying to have a Joniz uchiwa!! But the commentator said that the japanese delegetion's suits were so cheerfull, so i guess that's a good thing right? Indonesia only came on telly like a few seconds only, and the thing that they remember? the golden couple of course... how Susi Susanti & Alan Budiman both won the golden medals and later on married each other. Yeah... that was a historical moment indeed for our Badminton.

I know i like to be prepared, so i like to "stack up" on things, so they sometimes come to my room and ask if i have certain things that they can borrow, from candy to bandaid, from cutter to envelopes, from note book to battery, from tissue to extra tooth brush, but "materai" ?? eeeh i'm not that crazy lah... ^__^
